Activity 1: The Importance of Goals
Purpose: Help participants understand why setting goals is essential for personal and
professional growth.
Instructions:
- Watch a short video (provided in the LMS) on the science of goal setting and its
benefits. - Complete a quick quiz on the key points of the video.
Assignment:
Write a 200-word reflection:
- “Why is goal setting important in your life? How can it help you grow?”
Activity 2: SMART Goal Workshop
Purpose: Teach participants to craft goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
Instructions:
- Read a brief guide on SMART goals (provided in the LMS).
- Participate in a group discussion to brainstorm examples of SMART goals.
- Write your own SMART goal and submit it for feedback.
Assignment:
Submit a detailed SMART goal worksheet, including:
- Goal statement
- How it meets each SMART criterion
- First three steps to achieve the goal
Activity 3: Anticipating Challenges
Purpose: Help participants identify potential obstacles and develop strategies to
overcome them.
Instructions:
- Think of a goal you have struggled to achieve in the past.
- Identify at least three obstacles that got in your way.
- Write down potential solutions for each obstacle.
Assignment:
Create a “Challenge Map” for your SMART goal. Include:
- Possible roadblocks
- Strategies to address them
- Resources or support needed
Activity 4: Habit Tracker
Purpose: Teach participants how to create and maintain habits that align with their
goals.
Instructions:
- Choose one habit that supports your SMART goal.
- Use the provided habit tracker template to track your progress for one week.
- Reflect on the experience: What worked? What didn’t?
Assignment:
- Submit a photo or screenshot of your completed habit tracker with a 100-word reflection on its effectiveness
Activity 5: Progress Check-In
Purpose: Emphasize the importance of reviewing and adjusting goals over time.
Instructions:
- Reflect on the progress of your SMART goal.
- Answer the following questions:
“What progress have you made?”
“Are there any parts of the goal that need to be adjusted?”
Assignment:
Submit a” Goal Progress Report” that includes:
- Achievements so far
- Adjustments made to the original goal
- Next steps
Activity 6: Personal Growth Presentation
Purpose: Encourage participants to share their journey and reflect on their development.
Instructions:
Create a short presentation (3–5 slides) summarizing:
- Your SMART goal
- Challenges faced and overcome
- Habits formed
- Progress made so far
Present to the class or upload your presentation to the LMS for peer feedback.
Assignment:
- Submit your presentation slides in the LMS.
